Seeds of Civilization - Weekly Devlog 3


Heya, BlackHawk here, a lot has happened during this week, but not in regards to development of this project, in fact, it was fairly slow and it will probably be the shortest devlog in a while, from Holy Week, me running out of my ADHD meds, my birthday, the university I study in literally catching fire, and just a lot of stuff in general, not that much was done, and it made me realize I didn't exactly have a proper development plan since I made the extremely foolish mistake of not making an actual roadmap, due to how small this first release will be this will most likely not be that big of an issue, we are still very early in development, and since this is mostly just work on the core this would already have been the first step anyway, so nothing much would have changed, besides that, Z already got to work on the sketch for Samantha's first sex animation, without further ado, lets properly begin this devlog.

As it currently stands we only have an early sketch for her animation, but hey, someone is finally getting seeded in this civilization.

Overall, I really like how this is turning out, and hopefully we will have something more substantial to show off next week.

Prototype? Alpha? Beta? Demo?

With how much the definition of these have been changed and reinterpreted over the years I have been struggling to find what to name the first post-jam build of SoC, I genuinely don't want to mislead you guys, and as stated probably many times before this is my first time actually directing a project, so, I have decided to name this build an Alpha instead of a Beta, I just don't think there will be enough content on this first version for it to be called anything else, as stated above, this month's build is mostly the core of the game, and nothing really substantial beyond that, the page will be updated accordingly.

Potential delays?

Not really, besides the one day buffer mentioned in a previous devlog, the chances of this month's build being delayed are extremely low, there just isn't enough content in this build to warrant a delay in my opinion, so I guess I was able to scope it fairly well, even with my flawed planning.

Future?

As for my plans for next month, I will work on a proper roadmap, some sort of community server for Doelicious Games, and maybe hosting a game jam (although we most likely won't be participating in it due to our work on SoC), I will be talking more about these in a future Newsletter (finally used this term correctly), so stay tuned.
